How Municipal Court Warrants Work
Donalsonville Municipal Court handles the city's traffic and ordinance cases. Skip a required appearance there, and the judge can issue a bench warrant for failure to appear. Georgia's municipal-court guidance adds another sting: a missed traffic date can also get your driving privileges suspended through DDS. Those are two separate records. Each one needs its own confirmation with the office that keeps it. Locally, the official wording is "bench warrant" or "warrant for arrest," and Seminole County courts do not use the term capias pro fine. Only the city court decides whether its warrant gets recalled. A new appearance, a payment, a bond, or a judge's order can do it. Donalsonville Police or the county sheriff may serve the paperwork, but serving it does not change the court's status entry. That entry belongs to the issuing court alone.
Donalsonville Municipal Court Location
You will find the city court on the second floor of the Seminole County Courthouse, 200 South Knox Avenue, and the clerk answers at (229) 524-2118. The schedule on the city's page lists plea and court times from a 2022–23 calendar, so call ahead rather than trusting those old times. The official Donalsonville Municipal Court page gives the court's location, its municipal contact, and the ways to pay.

The shared courthouse confuses a lot of people. Seminole County's Municipal Court, its Magistrate and Probate courts, and the Superior Court clerk all sit in the same complex, yet each keeps its own case files.
Municipal Courts Across Seminole County
Seminole County has just two incorporated cities. Donalsonville publishes a court contact and a payment channel. Iron City lists a town contact but posts no municipal-court warrant page, police portal, court calendar, or recall form.
| City | Court or Contact | Warrant Record Route | Phone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Donalsonville | Donalsonville Municipal Court | Traffic and ordinance case; call clerk before payment after a missed date | (229) 524-2118 |
| Iron City | Town office | Ask which clerk or agency owns the citation; no portal verified | (229) 774-2572 |
A county traffic, game, or fish case belongs to Seminole Probate Court, not the city. County criminal warrants route through Magistrate Court instead. Both offices share one number: (229) 524-5256.
Donalsonville Traffic Tickets Online
The city court links GovernmentWindow for online payments. Its opening screen offers a Traffic Tickets button, city and clerk contacts, card logos, and a help number. After you pick Traffic Tickets, a security check stands between you and the case fields. None of these screens shows warrant status, so the ticket payment screen is not a Seminole County city court warrant search.

Reach the portal only through the city's official court page. A receipt proves payment, nothing more. It does not show that a Donalsonville judge recalled the warrant, reset the case, or sent a release to DDS, so confirm each of those steps with the clerk.
Seminole County Municipal Warrant Checks
Start with your paper citation. It names the court, the date, the citation number, and the issuing agency. If that date has already passed, call the Donalsonville clerk before you pay or show up, and ask whether a bench warrant exists and what the judge wants done about it.
- Read the citation and copy the court name, citation number, date, and defendant name exactly.
- Call Donalsonville Municipal Court for a city ticket, or Iron City’s town office to identify the right custodian.
- Ask whether the case has an active warrant, a new date, preset bond, or another judge-ordered term.
- Use GovernmentWindow only for a Donalsonville matter confirmed by the clerk.
- Call the sheriff warrant desk at (229) 524-5115, extension 7107, if service or custody status is unclear.
- Confirm in writing that the issuing court recalled the warrant and sent any required DDS release.
Thinking of walking into a Seminole County office to ask about an outstanding warrant in person? Georgia.gov warns that showing up can mean immediate custody, so let an attorney make that first contact for you.
Missed Donalsonville Court Date
Miss a court date in Donalsonville and there is no single automatic fix waiting for you. Georgia's Uniform Magistrate Court Rules let the judge respond with a bench warrant or a Rule Nisi, an order to come back and show cause. Municipal traffic guidance in the state works the same way: fail to appear and you may face a bench warrant plus license action. Donalsonville itself posts no local grace period and no automatic online recall. So call the municipal clerk and ask what the judge wants, whether that is a new court date, payment, bond, an appearance, or some other order. Once a warrant sends someone into custody, the jail number is (229) 524-8396. The jail reports that warrant cases go to first appearance before the Magistrate Judge, while some Municipal or Probate citation cases carry preset bonds. One caution: the city's published plea and court times are historical, so confirm the live calendar and any required appearance with the clerk directly. That call settles what no web page in Seminole County can.
Municipal Warrants: What They Show
Donalsonville posts no public schema or numbering format for its municipal warrants, so there is no set pattern to search for. The official Georgia citation form and the local post-booking roster do show the kinds of fields that can end up in a Seminole County court and custody record.
| Citation or case number | Use the exact identifier from the paper, such as CITATION NUMBER; no local pattern is verified. |
|---|---|
| Offense | City traffic or ordinance allegation and any cited code section. |
| Issuing court | Donalsonville Municipal Court or the court later confirmed for an Iron City citation. |
| Court date | The required setting and any later reset ordered by the court. |
| Warrant status | Issued, served, recalled, quashed, or cleared, as the issuing court defines it. |
| Bond or payment | Release or payment information that does not itself dismiss the case. |
After an arrest, a jail record may list the arresting agency, booking date, warrant number, court, and total bond. Even so, it cannot prove that no unserved city warrant exists in Seminole County.
Iron City Warrant Record Gap
Iron City keeps no warrant records online. There is no city website, no police warrant page, and no citation portal to check. The town also publishes no court schedule and no warrant phone line. What Iron City does publish is its town office, through a Georgia Municipal Association profile: P.O. Box 249, Iron City, Georgia 39859-0249, reachable at (229) 774-2572. Hours are Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call that office first and ask which clerk, court, or law-enforcement agency holds your citation. Donalsonville's GovernmentWindow system should not be assumed to cover Iron City. A Seminole County Magistrate or Probate Court route may exist, but no official source says either court automatically keeps every Iron City matter. If your question involves sheriff service or county custody, ask for warrant extension 7107. In Seminole County, as anywhere, get a clear answer on who holds the record before you pay anything or travel.
City Police and Sheriff Roles
Donalsonville Police works from 204 South Woolfork Avenue and answers at (229) 524-2175. Its inmates sit in the county jail, per the jail's own page. For anything countywide, Seminole County custody and warrant service run through the Sheriff's Office at 208 Court Street, (229) 524-5115.
No separate city marshal or constable office was found. The practical flow is: citation or complaint → city court review → clerk record → police or sheriff service → booking if arrested → first appearance or city-court process → recall and record update. The office responsible changes at each step.
So a police phone number is not a warrant list. In Seminole County, the clerk, sheriff, and jail each hold a piece of one case, and no single screen puts the whole path together.
Clearing a Municipal Court Warrant
Clearing a Donalsonville warrant starts with the issuing court, never with an online payment alone. The city publishes no recall form, surrender window, amnesty program, or payment plan. Call the court and ask for its current process; only that court can recall the warrant.
- Confirm the active warrant and underlying city case with the municipal clerk.
- Ask whether the judge requires payment, a reset, personal appearance, attorney-arranged appearance, or bond.
- If custody is required, confirm first-appearance and bond status with the jail.
- Complete the court-ordered step and keep every receipt, order, and new court date.
- Ask the court for recall status and confirm the sheriff record has updated.
- For traffic FTA, ask whether the court sent its release electronically to DDS.
Do not assume payment clears a warrant: Only the issuing court can confirm recall, and a separate DDS hold may remain.
DDS applies an FTA suspension 28 calendar days after notice and charges separate reinstatement fees. Fixing your license does not clear the city warrant or the citation under it. The Seminole County traffic warrant route walks through that parallel process.
